Tuesday morning, Kate and I took a boat ride on the Sarapiqui River. Our guide pointed out all kinds of wildlife - birds, iguana, bats. Meanwhile, Glenn and Janet did a white-water raft ride on another part of the Sarapiqui.

Meanwhile, the tour operator had somebody ride the KTM to the hotel to meet us, and then he took the bus home. Once again on four bikes, we headed out to the Arenal Volcano area.

We decided to have a go at riding to Poas Volcano. About halfway, we realized that we wouldn't make it there and to the Hotel Arenal Paraiso by dark, so we abandoned the attempt and settled for lunch at another roadside joint.

The ride to Hotel Arenal Paraiso passed without event, and we got there late afternoon. The view of the volcano from our cabin was fabulous. When darkness fell, we could clearly see small lava explosions and flows near the top of the volcano.

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and retired early.
